    4 Stride Approach | Pole Vault

    4 Stride Approach:

    Gradually increase the length of the approach run to develop the take off phase of the vault. Aim of this 4 stride approach drill is to develop the vigorous driving action of the free leg to take the vaulter in to the rock-back position.

    Plant Practise:

    A stationary drill to show correct grips and plant practise.

    Controlled Running | Pole Vault

    Controlled Running:

    Controlled running with the pole from transition of the high carriage position to the plant position.

    Rehearsal of Plant | Pole Vault

    Rehearsal of Plant:

    Rehearsal of the plant position which should high, fast and early. A 2 stride approach to the plant should give the vaulter the feeling of transferring body weight into the pole and test the position of arms at take off.
