DESCRIPTION

This tip demonstrates how each club should have a different flight angle.

Place a p-wedge, 7 iron and a 3 iron on the grond with the club face facing the sky. Gently stand on the club face. There should be a noticable difference between the p-wedge and 3 iron.

SET-UP:
Place 4 balls approximately a putter?s length from the target/hole at North, South, East and West points.

ACTIVITY:
Each player attempts to hole/hit the target with each ball in turn until all are holed. When all 4 are holed, place balls a putters length and a grip length from the hole and so on. Team players can start at each point and move round clockwise.

'Spot On' Landings:

To encourage the pupil to focus on their intending land point when chipping.

Place a circle of tees, hoop etc around one to two paces onto the green. Encourage the pupils to start by throwing the ball underarm to develop the feel for the required distance then move onto a chipping club and encourage the pupils to land in this circle and monitor how often they hit the land point and to the roll distance with created with various clubs.

Lift and check:

To encourage the pupil to check the club face aim in relation to the hold

Encourage the pupil to take their completed hold of the club then lift the club up to waist height in front of them (1). The front leading edge of the clubface should be vertical and the pupil should check for correct hold (2).

Start Golf - Long Game - Set-up

club take back:

Put two balls one behind the other, about 30cm apart.
with taking the club back try and push the back ball straight back and lift upnthe club
