DESCRIPTION

  • After a short run and hurdle step the gymnast dives forward to place hands, a shoulder width apart, on to a one section box.
  • Keeping legs extended the hips are brought high to place feet inside of hands on the box in a pike position.
  • Support places hands on gymnasts shoulders, with fingers out, and lifts controlling balance and forward rotation.

  • COACHING POINTS

  • The gymnast should aim for high hips, extended arms and legs, fingers forward and control.
  • Support needs to control forward rotation.
