DESCRIPTION

  • A fast approach run up. Eyes focus upon the trampette.
  • A long hurdle step. Arms swing upwards at this phase of the skill; then down again as the gymnast impacts the trampette.
  • Rebound firmly as the arms swing upwards to create a stretched long shape.
  • At the top of the flight execute a quick piked shape
  • Eyes look forward and hands lie along ankles.
  • Hip extends to straighten out the body to prepare for landing.
  • On landing flex at hip and knee joints to absorb impact.
  • Recover to stand upright.

  • COACHING POINTS

  • Use arm rotation to aid height.
  • Keep head up and eyes looking forward.
  • Aim for height and not distance
  • Secure landing by wide stance and arms horizontal.
