DESCRIPTION

  • Put the apparatus away.

    • Ask the children to demonstrate all the different ways of sliding around the room. This should be done slowly.

    COACHING POINTS

  • Discuss with the children the effects of sliding slowly and what effects it has on the body - We become less hot and heart rate slows down.

    Ask the children to stretch up tall, then curl up small and then roll over sideways.

    Play follow my leader to conclude - touch head/toes, stretch up tall/curl up small.

  • Put the benches away.

    • Ask the children to walk slowly backwards, looking over their shoulders and not bumping into each other. The children must then stop and lay down - very still.

    The teacher will then move around the class and when they touch a child on the head that child must demonstrate their favourite movement of the lesson.

  • Put the apparatus away.

    • Ask the children to tip toe along with tiny steps from one side of the hall to the other - slowly !.

    Choose children to demonstrate their favourite stretching movement.

  • Put the apparatus away.

    • Ask half the class to observe whilst the other half demonstrate how to travel along the floor on two hands and one foot. Change over.
