On GO, the group moves towards the cone, pop passing between all players in close proximity.At the cone, the players spread out and attack the line at pace and with width.

COACHING POINTS

Communication is vital.

Make pitch wider on the run back as players get better.

Get the ball out wide quickly and score on the far cone.

OFTEN USED WITH...

Pass Invaders:

Split the team into two groups.

The players run to the cone and then pass the ball square before running on to the next cone and pass square. When the players reach the end they have to run back through the middle of the cones.

The practice keeps repeating.

Zig Zag Relay:

The player with the ball passes to the next player and follows the direction of the ball using a side step.

The player who receives the ball does the same and so on to the last player who receives the ball and runs around the group to the first cone and restarts the drill.

Passing circle:

Place 2 players in the centre. Both players pass to those running the circle.

Notice that the gap between the passer and the catcher has narrowed because there are now 2 players acting as passers.

Round the circle Passing:

Each group forms a circle with players about 1m apart. First practise passing and catch around the circle. Next, the first player to pass runs around the outside of the circle. The player races against the ball to return to his/her start position.
