ABS Throw Overhead

Sit close to the wall and put feet up on the wall. Lift your upper body and start throwing the ball overhead against the wall. Player has to maintain straight upper body to make sure that core muscles are working all the time. On the other hand, player also works on shoulders while throwing the ball.

Balance Throw & Catch

Player stands close to the wall on the balance platform. Player throws medicine ball off the ground into the wall. Player tries to keep balance all the time. This exercise is a great tool to improve many physical skills at the same time. Player can work on balance, strength and power during the warm up time.

Close To The Wall

Player stands close to the wall and repeatedly hits backhand volleys at the wall, with the aim of the drill being that the ball does not touch the ground. This helps improve reaction times of players.

Backhand Drills

In And Out With The Wall

Player stands facing the wall and hits forehand volleys against the wall. After each hit, the player moves forward and closer to the wall. Once at the wall, the player continues to hit the ball against the wall but now moves back to their starting position. The aim is for the ball to not touch the floor.

Left Leg Lunge

Player uses TRX (facing the wall). Player stands on the right leg. Player performs lunge back with left leg while keeping the left leg in the air.

Like A Wall

Players play up to 11 points. Player A can hit only lobs. Player B can hit only overheads.

Rally Drills

Right Knee Up TRX

Player uses TRX (facing away from the wall). Player keeps right leg close to the wall. Player brings right knee up and forward. This exercise should be performed dynamically but coaches can do it slowly if they want to work on running technique.

Snap It Down

The player stands at quite a distance from the wall and hits only overhead forehand smashes against the wall. The player should aim to make the ball bounce as close to the wall as possible. This will help the ball bounce high ready for the next shot, with the player doing the same thing continuously.

Smash Drills

The Wall

4 players 2 at the net and 2 at the baseline. Coach feeds the ball in to the baseliners and the point is played out. The volleyers can hit anywhere, however the baseliners cannot hit to the same volleyer twice in a row. After 2 volleys the baseliners are then allowed to lob. The winner is the first team to 11 points, after this the teams swap over.

Cones are set around the player, with the player's goal to touch each cone separately without falling off the platforms.Balance platforms work best with this drills. If coaches don't these though use your creativity to find an alternative (stand on a bean bag for example).The important thing is to use something that is SAFE to stand on and ideally forces the kid to test their balance.

Players work in groups of 4 volleying one ball between 4.Players down 1 end start by always hitting cross court, the pair down the other end hitting down the line.Players continue in this way until "change" is called by the coach, and the pattern resumes with all players trying to keep the rally going as this occurs.Courts compete between themselves looking for the longest rallies or alternatively, players can compete amongst the groups of 4 by counting errors, so that the player with the least amount of errors at the end of the drill wins!

Wide deep squats moving from one side of court to the other.Feet turned out at 45Â°.Lift one leg up and use it to turn 180Â° so that they are facing the opposite direction.

Rally with 3 zones Forehand Dr...

2 players rally together in cross court direction. 3 zones are set on each playerâs side (Red, Yellow, Green). Player has to hit particular shot according to the opponentâs balls placement. If the ball lands in the red zone player hits defensive/neutral shot. If the ball lands in the yellow zone player hits neutral/offensive shot. If the ball lands in the green zone player has to attack it.Drill specifications:30-60 seconds and switch4 players can work on the court at the same time while others can have different duties. Coach can put 2 players next to the net post and let them say âstopâ when the ball goes over the net. This is the signal for the player and feedback at the same time of their perception time. If there are more players on the court coach can make them do some fitness drill or put them far behind the hitting players and work on ball perception on their own.

Psychology in tennis HELP! My daughter gets upset...

Psychology in tennis HELP!!! I have a daughter who is an excellent player who only started playing tennis seriously last yr at the age of 13. She is a much better player than all the people she has completed against in matches but always loses due to over hitting and getting upset if the wrong call is made (which happens frequently due to how fast she hits and serves) do we need some sort of psychological help for this. what is the best way to get this... books, councilling ??? any help would be most appreciated thanks
