Forwards and Mids are Red. Wingers are Blue. Defenders are Green. Full Press is proactively setup when our forward player has taken a mark in F50 and is lining up for goal. If we kick a point, we should already be setup. The aim is to force Oppo to kick the ball into a pocket. In the example, the ball is kicked into our Right Forward Pocket. If Oppo looks to go longer (ie. over the first 3 lines of our Full Press), the Defensive Box simply slides over to the side where the ball is being kicked to. When the ball is kicked into our Right Forward Pocket, all players in the press roll back and to the right, to skinny up the right side of the ground. The Skinny Side Wingman rolls back in behind the Defensive Box (CHB is in the middle of the Defensive Box and lines himself up with the ball) to be a +1. In the Full Press, no-one should be behind the opponent with the ball. The aim is to block the middle of the ground (and the path ahead of the opponent) so that the opposition cannot come through the corridor to kick a goal. We want the Opposition to only be playing along the boundary if possible. If Oppo kicks it long down the line, then the Defensive Box is setup really well to be able to pick off the long kick. The Full Press slides in the direction the ball was kicked. If Oppo goes back towards our goal, we Press up on them in the 3-4-5-Box-1 Formation to try and force an error and capitalise with a goal of our own. Keeping the ball in our forward half of the ground or even better, in our F50, helps us to put pressure on the Opposition. By setting up well behind the ball, we get more chances to pick off their kicks and then get more F50 entries of our own. More time in our F50 gives the Defensive Box more time to get setup correctly.
