Battlefield Introduce correct handball technique - Students begin by pairing up in their group and standing along the border of the square - Demonstrate correct handball technique and give simple, clear KTPâs - Student handball back and forth to one another practising technique - Introduce competition (how many handballs can you do in 30 secs, or how many can you do without dropping or moving position â what do you notice when you try are put under pressure or a time limit? Technique fades) Modified game - Aim is to try and handball ball across âdead zoneâ and land it in your opponents square - If opponent catches/marks ball, they are rewarded 1 point/behind - If a successful handball is made and lands in oppositions square, the team is rewarded 6 points/goal - The ball must land inside the square/on the line on the full to be awarded a point/goal - Teams will play 7 games, versing each team once, for 2mins - Teams should remember how many win & loses they take - Game begins on teacherâs command âGoâ
