Buffalo Drill. -Coach kick ball up to player (A) who marks and pushes back hard off the mark. -Player (A) then sees option in the middle of the gound and runs toward player (B) before kicking to the lead. -Player (B) marks the ball and pushes hard straight back off the mark. -Leading player (C) has already seen that the mark will be taken at CHF and makes a tick lead around the yellow cone and back up at kicker (B). -When tick leading player (C) marks, he will wheel and go immediately and kick to the player (D) leading out of the square. -Player (D) marks and kicks set shot or if the mark is not taken attemots to kick a crumbing goal. -Go to where you give. Retrieve the ball after the shot on goal and return to the player A's cone. -ALTERNATE: Player D is in a 1 on 1 marking contest with a defender and there is a crumbing forward ready to rove the contest for a shot at goal.
-Player A and B always pushing back hard of the mark while not turning their back on the play. -Player C's lead needs to be a geniune tick lead so that defender can be lost when leading back up at the kicker. -Player C's wheel and go needs to be quick and around any potential man on the mark. Obviously wheel to preferred leg. -Player D leads up at the kicker. -Timing of all leads is important. Make sure the player has time to push back off the mark and time lead accordingly.
