This Sportplan session takes a fun look at passing, working in particular on the give and go.
Giving and going is a positive attacking technique which has the added benefit of giving your team an 'extra man' as your players move forward to create options.
What's in the Session?
This session has been specifically designed to allow players of all levels and abilities to take part in this forward thinking passing training. Starting with the basics of passing, you will be able to reinforce the chest pass and the bounce pass, before progressing onto the more complex running and passing activities.
Finally, to put the skills into practice and see which team has really upped their passing game, this session finishes with a quick rotation, three-team conditioned game to see which team will be the first one to complete 10 consecutive passes. The losing side in this game will have to take a seat and be replaced by the eager sideline team!
Good team defence is five players guarding the ball, not five separate one-on-ones. The shell drill is where that starts, so here is how to teach help-side positioning and rotations from the first week of the season.
Rebounding is the least glamorous thing in basketball and one of the most decisive. It is also almost entirely a habit, which means it is entirely coachable.
Good spacing is only the start. The best modern offences teach players to attack the defence's rotations and play in a permanent 4-on-3 - here is how to coach that read.
