- When passing left, the ball should be received on the back foot
- When passing right, the ball should be received on the front foot
- The player who crosses the dotted line with the ball should be shooting
- Shot should be taken as soon as the ball crosses the D line
- Remain as narrow as possible (wide players in line with posts)
- Have forwards follow the ball in looking for deflections and effectively widening the goal
