DESCRIPTION

  1. Player 1 dribbles across the square.
  2. Player 2 starts without the ball and takes over possession and carries on dribbling across.

COACHING POINTS

Challenge players to communicate and complete the skill at match speed.

PROGRESSION

Have the players dump the ball off in a variety of ways, imagining defenders coming in from different directions

2 player passing pattern | Passing & Receiving

2 player passing pattern:

A. Player 1 passes the ball to player 2.

B. Player 1 then follows his/her own pass.

C. Player 2 passes the ball back to player 1 for a wall pass back in the space

D. Player 2 runs onto the ball and has a shot at goal.

Two player square passing | Passing & Receiving

Two player square passing:

Moving back and forth between two cones players make straight and diagonal passes to each other while moving.

3 man passing exercise | Passing & Receiving

3 man passing exercise:

Player 1 passes the ball to 2 who in turn passes it to 3 on the run.

Player 3 then runs round the cone anti-clockwise before passing the ball to player 1.

Player 1 then again passes to 2 who in turn passes to 3 who then runs clockwise round the cone and then passes back to 1.

Cross over relays | Moving with the ball

Cross over relays:

Same principle as the straight relays, but players have to run diagonally across avoiding the other team.

It is that all players keep their heads up and do not run so fast that it causes them to lose control of the ball.
