Soccer: Volley, Low Dive, Long Shot Combination

Improve the goalkeeper dealing with shots from distance and at an angle. Using a combination of volleys, low shots and up high strikes replicate the variations of shots keepers might receive.

• 2 serving positions.
• Volley into hands from the 1st serving position, followed by a shot from the edge of the area from the 2nd serving position.

Can be used with one or more keepers simultaneously. Place a ball on either side of your keepers, within diving reach.

Your keepers should be stood in the middle of these two balls on their cones.

When the coach / player gives the signal (stretching a hand out to the left or the right) your keepers should react as quickly as possible and dive to catch the ball on that side.

• Central server and server from wide on the angle.
• GK turns in from the post. Then receives a shot around the body.
• GK catches the ball and plays back to Server 1.
• They then must quickly adjust to get into position and receive a shot from Server 2.

• 3 cones set out in a triangle in the 6 Yard box.
• 2 servers out wide with the balls.
• GK goes round the front cone of the triangle and gets into set position to receive shot from 1st Server.
• They then need to get around the front cone and figure of 8 around the wide cone into a set position to receive shot from 2nd Server.
• Vary the service to include strikes off the floor, volleys, half volleys and dipping shots.
