DESCRIPTION

Four players stand behind each corner of a cone.

Each player takes two touches.

The ball is passed in a anti-clock wise manner.

Every 3 or 4 passes the ball is switched.

COACHING POINTS

Ball is passed with pace

Players are always moving on the spot

Ball is passed using instep or outside of foot

To make average remove the cones and play making the four players move to the ball if a mistake is make.

Square Ball 2:

Three players stand behind 1 corner of the grid each.Â The ball is played to a player on one of the cones.

The ball cannot be passed diagonally.Â The spare player must move to give the ball carrier a second passing option.

Passing and Receiving

Simple pass and follow:

Set out grids about 5 by 5m.

Player by each cone with 2 players starting on the first cone (could be more depending on numbers). Player with the ball starts by passing the ball to the player on the next cone. (anti clock-wise to start with) with their right foot and controlling the ball with their left foot. after the ball has gone round 2 times switch by passing the ball round clock wise ( with left foot only and control with right foot)

Square Passing - One or Two touch:

Simple passing drill - players pass the ball in an anti-clockwise direction and should try to play either a one touch or second touch pass.

Passing and Receiving

Reverse Pass:

Players are in pairs.
Player 2 starts with the ball, they dribble the ball in a diagonal line to the opposite cone.
Player 1 make a diagonal run towards the opposite cone.
As the player with the ball reaches the cone they play a reverse ball to their partner.
