Slice is a great weapon at all levels of performance. Players can use the slice to change the rhythm of the rally, to keep the ball low after the bounce or to disguise their tactical approach.
By understanding and practicing both technical and tactical skills related to the slice shot, the player gets an additional weapon that can be used against different opponents when it is needed to win.
The coach should point out the benefits of slice ball and encourage players to incorporate this option into particular situations on the court. However the coach has to be aware of the fact that some players can start to use too many defensive slices so they should approach every player individually and show the ways to use a slice according to the player's individual style of play.
