Blue players take it in turns to run forward and take on the defender in a 1v1.
The aim for the defender is to protect their gate and prevent the attacker from getting through.
Once the attack is finished (after a shot or tackle) the attackers collect their ball and sprint to the back of the opposite line.
Defending in a personal duel - key points:
- Arms slightly bent and slightly in front of you
- Prevent attackers from coming between your arms and move sidewards along with your attacker and stay between goal and attacker
- Pressure the attacker's movements
- Never jump, keep close contact with the floor and lots of small, quick steps to shadow the attacker!
