Handball: pivot player defends and attacks

DESCRIPTION

Player A starts for 4 tasks.
1. C gets pass from B and tries to get past defender A.
Defender A prevents this, after this defensive task he sprints to position 2 and receives pass from B and shoots at the goal.
3. Then he runs to position 3 and prevents action by D who also reveives pass from B.
4. Last action by A is receiving pass from B and shooting at the goal.

Then defender changes position with A.

COACHING POINTS

Position of red defender 3 is taken by A in his 3rd action!!

OFTEN USED WITH...

combination to pass to pivot:

1 dribbles zig-zagging the cones.
Passes to 2 who passes to left backcourt player 4 who comes in and passes back to pivot 2 who goes to the goal with a diveshot.

Shooting back court players

shooting wing player:

Pass B3-B2, W1 steps forward to B1.
B1 makes body contact with W1, feinst as if to break through the center, but goes the other way.
Pass B2-B1 who throws at the goal.

- half active
- fully active

shooting wing player

shooting wing player:

Pass B3-B2.
W2 steps forward.
B1 feints as if to go to the corner, but breaks through to the center, gets ball from B2 and throws at the goal.
