DESCRIPTION

Two attackers are passing and suddenly one of them shoots at the goal. At that moment the two defenders sprint for the fast break and the goalkeeper passes them the ball after getting control over the goalshot.

COACHING POINTS

Once the drill is familiar to all the players the drill can be intensified with a 1 v 1 duel of attackers and defenders.

Stop and Throw a Fast Break 3:

Goalkeeper stands on the goal line. A player throws a ball at the goal, which the goalkeeper tries to stop.

Once under control of the ball, he throws a fast break pass to one of the players half way up the court.

Behind the goal there is the coach raising left or right arm to show which break player must run.

Stop the Overhead Balls:

Goalkeeper stands on the goal line. He sprints forward, touches the ball of the blue player, who throws it high over the goalkeeper's head into the goal. When the goalkeeper has touched the ball he goes for it and tries to get the ball before it crosses the goal line.

Goalkeeper stands on the circle line facing the goal. The player behind him rolls the ball into the goal. When the goalkeeper notices the ball he goes for it and tries to get the ball before it crosses the goal line.

Goalkeeper stands on the goal line.

A player throws two balls at the goal, which the goalkeeper tries to stop. He then sprints forward, touches the ball of the blue player, who throws it high over the goalkeeper's head into the goal.

When the goalkeeper has touched the ball he jogs back to save the lobbed shot before it crosses the goal line.
