DESCRIPTION

The children stand in a circle as close together as possible, so the ball can be easily passed around. When the game leader blows the whistle, the players start passing the ball to each other. The game leader then turns around and blows the whistle suddenly. The player holding the ball when the whistle blows is out.

Make it harder:

Multiple balls can be passed around at the same time.
The ball must be passed and caught over a short distance.
Use bounce passes.
Players must roll the ball, then pick it up and pass it by rolling it again.

Variations:

Who’s left? The game continues until only one player remains who didn’t get caught with the ball when the whistle blew.
Letter rule: Each time a player fails to catch the ball, they get a letter from the word "DONKEY" The first player to spell out the word "DONKEY" is the loser.
Two teams in two circles: If playing with two circles (teams), the game can be played to see which team gets the first "donkey."
