DESCRIPTION

Play a normal full pitch game with the following condition:

One attacker on both teams must stay in the offensive half of the pitch at all times.

This will result in a one man overload when teams are attacking and will promote fast breaks.

COACHING POINTS

Look for good quick passing from the attacking teams as they move the opposition around to stretch them out and create clear options for the attack!

There should be no need for risky passes or tactics as they have the extra man!

OFTEN USED WITH...

Shoot in the hoop:

Player across a half court with two teams.

Both teams need to defend their 3 hoops whilst trying put their ball into one of their opposition's hoops.

After scoring there is a change of possession.

Score on the mat!:

Playing across a half-court each team has to try and score on the opposition's mat.

Instead of scoring in a goal players must place the ball on the opposition's mat - if the ball rolls off then the point is void!

Players are free to move anywhere within the half-court area and normal rules apply apart for scoring a goal.

Handball rugby game:

Playing inside half a court at both sides there is a coned area about 2 meters deep.

Each team must attack the other team's zone whilst defending their own.

Aim of the game :

To try and bring the ball into the 'enemy' zone and make a try.

Moving Goal Game:

Two equal teams play with one ball in half the court.

Two players who are on neither team hold an elastic cord (or a spare bib/piece of material) to form a moving goal. These two players must run around the pitch, keeping the goal open (stretched out).

The aim of the game for the other players is to score a goal into this moving goal through use of a bounce pass.
