I did not make my 9th grade tryout team and I want to make the team for my 10th grade tryouts...
Hi Ervin,
Firstly, you got to practice to work on your weaknesses! If it is dribbling - practice your dribbling on the way to and from school. If it is shooting - practice your shooting on your local court daily work on your technique (focusing on the right amount of power, and wrist and hand movement).
Also jog and sprint as much as you can, to improve your fitness so you are able to handle the intensity of the game.
PS. Try set yourself weekly targets, note your progression. I'll leave you a quote from one of the greatest if not the greatest who played the game.
I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Play, play and play a lot more. Practice will only get you so far. Find a court that has a lot of players, find a gym that gives open gym that a lot of players attend. Work on your strengths, build up your weaknesses. But play against better competition. Try something that you never tried before, get creative. Allow yourself the most flexibility. Push yourself to get stronger, faster and quicker.
your fundamentals will never be perfect the reason spurs won play offs last year is because they are a fundamental based team keep working on them. also if there are potent scorers on the team work on other aspects which are lacking on a team such a defence or rebounding steals etc. personally if you can play defence i will start you and lastly be confident in your abilities.
