HI all, how can I prepare an annual training plan for football under 15 aged athletes? If you have a sample plan please attach it to your answer. Thanks!
Hi Awoke,
Lots of ideas here - at the beginning of your season setout an agreement with your players that they'll arrive on time to training, won't miss games without letting you know at least 24 hours in advance...
Now it's time to find out more about your players, how experienced are they, what level of fitness do they have and why do they want to play (what motivates them, what are their goals?)
Then as for training that's up to you to identify areas that need improvement and to then try and improve these areas of your players' games. A good simple structure is as follows:
Best of luck with your team.
your training programme should have a monthly topic and you address tyhat topic with different themes every week.
Now this will mean that you do not end up necessarily working on things that don't go well in the game, but it does allow for a full programme covering the different areas of the players development over the season.
An example could be: 1st month topic = Defending, withing that month you have 4 sessions covering defending, i.e. defending outnumbered; defending in balance; defending set pieces; defending to counter attack.
The next month you can work on Wide play and within that you will have 4 weeks worth of sessions covering different aspects of that monthly topic, i.e. Defending wide areas; attacking wide areas; crossing and finishing; switching play to go wide and so on.
