Help, I coach over 35 6 year olds and am looking for new drills to keep them all entertained. They don't like standing in lines waiting to do things! Help!!! Cheers
Hi Martin, first piece of advice is get some help! This is too many players for one person to coach! How about a few parents or players from the older teams in your club?
As for ideas how about a game of "sleeping giant" to work on their dribbling, good for large groups.
Hi thanks for the reply. Dont worry i dont coach them all on my own, im not that mad ! There are 5 coaches in all (its just extremely noisy as you can imagine!)
That looks a great drill, will give it a go this weekend
Thanks
How about a netball style drill. On small groups of 3-5, 1 ball between each group they have to get it from one end of pitch to other. only rule child with call cannot move. Start with the picking up and holding the ball then progress to passing. Great drill for teaching pass and move.
you could always use pirate ship. the whole group run from one end of pitch to other while you do a side foot along the ground with ball. if anybody gets hit they join you with a ball on the side. last one left wins. 10 would be enough for this one.
in more ways than one
