Hi, ive just started coaching, im 17 and am helping a friend of my dad coach his under 10's he wants me to take a session on my own, im confident of my abilities to coach but is it nornal to feel a bit nervous before your first training session or am i just over reacting? haha
I have been coaching now for over 10 years around the world from grass roots to the professional game. And my advice to you is this.....
Be creative, be inspired. Don't directly copy what others do. Keep educating your self. Over time you will build your own philosphy. Not everyone will agree with what your doing, but as long as you truely believe what your doing works and is right then you must have belief in your self. If you don't, who will?
Be open to all ideas not just from football, challenge everything to what you believe.
And finally, yes it is normal to be nervous. It shows that you care about what your doing. Just use those nerves as a way of telling yourself never to drop the ball.
