Hi Charlie,
The "Diagonal Pass" drill involves players working in pairs with one ball per pair. Here's how it goes:
- The first player makes a square pass across the grid to their partner.
- The partner then plays a pass diagonally across the grid back to the first player, who runs onto the ball.
- The first player then plays square across the grid again to their partner running onto the ball.
- Players work their way up to the top of the grid.
This drill is designed to generate space and cause defenders to adjust their positions. Encourage your players to pass and move, dragging defenders out of position in a match. Ensure passes are in front of the receiving player to maintain a fluid attack.
I hope this helps,
Cam
