what can i get the kids to do while i set up the session so they are running through the set up
My keeper is not very tall but she can touch the crossbar when she jumps. She has touble with high balls and seems to misjudge them and tries to catch them rather than punch them over the top. Any drills or suggestions that might help?
what is the off side rule?
Hi I am a assistant coach for our under 12yr old team and wondered if anyone can help me with coaching tips for our goal keeper. I have covered all of the ones on the web page but need coaching tips for jumping techniques as our goalie is quite short and needs to gain balance Many thanks Andy
Some 11 year olds are joining our team and are moving from 7-a-side to 11-a-side. What should I practice with them to help this transition?
How to set the team up to defend a team that play the high ball over the top for thier fast forward to run on too
where on the field can I play a slow player
We have a tall strong player in our under 12 team, he is well built but we are not sure what his best position is ie out and striker or centre back he tends to go on long runs and can withstand strong tackles but he does try to do too much and can tire, he doesn't always pass when he should and often will shoot wide where placing his shoot would be better any suggestions ?
Hi has anyone got a good warm up routine for a under 18 team before a match?
I coach a U14 Boys team with a majority of them returning from the past couple seasons. My main loss from this past season was my keeper. I have a kid that has played keeper before, so I was told, but he is letting too many soft goals go by and costing us games. When I try to work with him, he just gives me a blank stare. I tell him to catch the ball but he continues to knock it down and then try to catch it which lets the other team score. I have told him to do some drills at home to help him but he tells me that he has not done them and does not want to. When I replace him, or try to, his mother throws a fit and gives me attitude. How do I handle this situation? I have been coaching for seasons and I have never had this happen before.
I am taking over a team next season who will be under 10's and I am wanting to bring in a few new players but don't know what will be the best way to trail them and how long I would trail them for. There are many tournaments pre season would that be a good idea. Also what is the best approach with the lads who are not good enough, how do you break it to them
Looking for a some drills to help under 8 and 9's to stop crowding round the ball and to pass and move into space
I manage and coach two current u8 boys teams, which as you can imagine is time consuming and often stressful. I can often feel under pressure particularly being a female and getting dads interfering. Time wise I have to train them together but I really need some news ideas to engage them and stop the messing about. I have 16 of them and we are going to u9 in the new season. Any help would really be appreciated.
