1, 2, 3 Pass and Move

There are two triangles in this drill, both using the same top point player (player 5). Players in the top triangle pass in an anti-clockwise direction and players in the lower triangle pass in a clock-wise direction. Both pairs of players must use the middle player as their third passing option.

Crazy Dribble Relay

Four groups are placed at four corners of the square. The two groups to one side of the square dribble the ball around the square in a clockwise fashion and the other two dribble the ball around the square in a anti-clockwise fashion. Keep going until all the team have been at least once.

Close control dribbling with the ball. This practice is a good practice to set up as part of a skill circuit where the players pratice lots of variations of dribbling. Place the cones about 5 metres apart and ask the players to dribble around the cones in a figure of eight as fast as they can.

Four players stand behind each corner of a cone. Each player takes two touches. The ball is passed in a anti-clock wise manner. Every 3 or 4 passes the ball is switched.

In this stage add the drag back of the ball.

The Lone Ranger

On the coaches command, saddle up, the player stands over the back of their partner who is on all fours. On the command ride, the player jumps off, crawls through their partners legs and dribbles the ball around in a clockwise direction around the outside of the circle. When they get back to their partner they should go through their legs and then jump on their back to finish.

Players can play a thru ball at any time, this being a pass diagonally across the grid. Initially, players should yell 'thru ball' as they let the ball go.After a thru ball the players should change direction of the passing around the grid(clock or anti clock wise)

Players stand in a triangle formation, with an extra man stood behind the player on the ball. Players pass in a clockwise direction, following their pass.

Encouraging 1st time shooting by using the correct technique to take the shot early and finish from close range. Get your knee over the ball and use the pace of the ball to generate the power. By trying to strike the ball too hard, the likelihoood is the accuracy will be poor. Blue 1 plays ball into area and clue 2 moves in to shoot 1st time. Blue 2 goes to replace blue 1 and blue 1 runs around working area to take blue 2s place.<br /><br />

3 players run down the pitch, passing and interchanging to finish with a shot at goal. Player in the middle starts with the ball. They pass the ball to one of the outside players and overlaps around them. The second player passes the ball to the player on the other side and overlaps around them. Each player receives the ball from the same player every time and they should overlap around the player they pass to.

Position players in groups of 4 as shown in the diagram. Repeat in 2 other areas for a total of 12 players.The server (player 3) stands behind the goalkeeper. He makes a pass out to the shooter who strikes the ball 1st time at the goal. This shot must come from the grid at the right of the diagram. Player 2 retrieves any balls from behind the goal. Repeat and rotate.<br>Progression: Serve the ball for a volley or 1/2 volley.

Players always take 2 touches, the ball is moved from one end, into the middle man and then to the other end before the sequence is repeated from the other side.

Group in pairs. One ball between the pair. Repeat in 5 other areas for a total of 12 players.Player 2 passes the ball across the area to player 1. Player 2 then runs immediately around the cone and back to his starting position. Player 1 must control the ball, then pass it back using the inside of his foot, attempting to pass the ball over the far end line before player 2 gets back into position. A goal is scored if the ball goes over the end line travelling along the ground. Repeat and rotate.

From one side of the pitch to the other players take it in turns to have 4 consecutive cross-field passes, all the time trying to get the ball to land inside the 'bull's eye'.

Player 3 will cross the ball into the box where players 1 and 2 will try to beat the defender to it and score.

He can sell the mannequin a dummy on the way past or touch it and retreat two yards, before playing the foot and setting off on the sprint. The player who receives the pass takes a touch then passes the ball on and does the same.
