My Under 9 team keeps starting games slowly. Normally by half time they are just getting switched on and playing like they can. What's a good pre-match warm up to get them switched on and ready to go right from kick off?
Greetings.Me and 2 friends of mine are trying to improve overall at football. I've seen a couple of training drills on the site, and we started doing them. Any suggestions for training drills? We're amatuers both physically and skill wise. For referrence: 1 of us is a Center back, 1 is a Right Back and I play as Central Midfielder. Hello all! My kids aged 9 and 7 are very slow when compared to their peers of the same age. They don't seem to fight for the ball and get and watch others play their game. They seem to lack the urgency (heart) needed for the game. (They LOVE football). How can make them move around and react faster. Any help you are able to provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks O
Hello coach, My question is - How to defend high airballs? Actully we prefer to play small passes and ground balls more. So we face problems with airballs. Teams here play more airballs. I play in the midfield for my football team, and it seems like whenever (training or a game) a high ball, from say a goal kick or clearance or chip, comes to me, I struggle to control it. It always bounces away. I have done endless passing, receiving, juggling, you name it drills, but what I really need are specific drills that help me control (feet, chest, etc) a ball that is coming to me with power and height. Any ideas?

iam coaching under 16s boys soccer and we keep losing our shape paticulary in mid field and this is where i want to control the game from but there always seem to be no one marking up when there is a quick change of possion
We have been promoted to a higher league this of which I think the kids thoroughly deserve. I've one concern though, at this age you find a number of boys that have experienced growth spurts and are usually disproportionally bigger (not technically better). I find with these games my boys get pushed off the ball and struggle to cope with the strength of these boys. How does one set up a team against a squad that's not better but stronger and bigger.
