1v1 to Goal

Organise the players into groups of 3, with 1 goalkeeper and 2 outfield players. Player 1 and player 2 stand or sit facing away from goal. The goalkeeper then throws the ball out and player 1 and player 2 play the ball back to the goal, passing between them before shooting.

2v1 Functional Play

Player 1 starts with the ball. The ball is played in with pace to the feet of player 2. As the ball is played in player 2 moves to the ball, and with their first touch aim to bring the ball inside and round the defender. The same can be done on the outside towards the touch line.

Players 1 and 2 pass the ball back and forth. Player 4 tries to create space so that player 3 can receive the ball on the inside and have a free run onto goal.

Three players line up facing each other. Player 1 plays the ball into player two's feet. They meet the ball and turn before playing a wall pass with player 3, and once the ball has returned, player 2 then shoots first time.

Set up three lines of three across the pitch. The players on the half way line start with the ball and pass up to player 2's feet. Player 2 controls the ball and turns (where possible with just one touch) and plays a one-two (wall pass) with player 3. Upon receiving the return pass player 2 shoots first time.

One Touch Passing

Players are 10 metres apart facing each other.Player 1 starts with the ball.Player 1 rolls the ball to player 2 who passes the ball back with instep using 1 touch.After 10 repetitions swap roles.

Only Square Passes

Set up a minimum of 4 pairs of cones in a straight line and get players into pairs, with a player from each pair stood behind the starting cones. In this pairs passing exercise players are only allowed to use straight passes (no diagonal balls). The first pass is played from player 1 (p1) to player 2 (p2). P1 then runs diagonally across the grid to receive the return pass from p2. After passing the ball to p1, p2 must also run to the cone diagonally opposite to receive the next pass. The drill continues in this way until players reach the final cone.

Pass, up and over!

Players work inside a 10 meter long grid with one ball divided into three. The players on the outside pass the ball into the middle player who passes the ball straight back. When the outside players receives the return ball they play it first time, passing a lofted pass over the top of the middle player to the opposite outside player who controls the ball and then repeats the drill from the other side.

Tails Conditioned games - Foot...

All players have a bib tucked into the back of their waistband (must be visible). On the whistle, players attempt to catch as many bibs as possible - whilst keeping their own one in the back of their waistband.

Rats and Rabbits Dribbling - F...

Set out two lines of six discs approximately 5 yards apart. Station 1 player by each disc. One ball per player. One team is the "Rats" and the others the "Rabbits". When the coach calls out "Rabbits", the rabbits team chase the rats to the end line. The rabbits must tag the rats before they reach the safety of their end line. Repeat in the opposite direction when the coach calls out "Rats".

Farmers and Foxes Conditioned ...

The foxes (players) put bibs into the back of their shorts. The farmer (coach) runs around the area attempting to pull the bibs out. When a players bib is pulled out, he becomes a farmer too. Play until 1 fox is left. The players must remain within the confines of the area throughout the activity. Any player running outside the area, automatically becomes a farmer.

Each teams has 3 players and one goal to defend and one to attack. The ball is not allowed to stop or go over head height. By passing and dribbling the ball players must try to score three goals - first to three wins!

Handball Game - No running wit...

5 vs 5 game (can be played with or without goals).Game 1:Possession keeping game where all passing is with the hands by throwing and catching. Teams score a point for every 10 passes they make without losing the ball.Game 2:Alternatively you can play this game with goals. All passes must be made with the hands (players can't run with the ball in hand) and players can only score with a header.

Numbers Game Conditioned games...

Split your players into two equal teams and have them wait on the sideline opposite the coach who is standing with the ball in hand. Give players on each team a number from 1-5 (higher number if you have more players).The coach then calls out a set of numbers. The players with these corresponding numbers must react to the call and run onto the pitch.The coach kicks the ball into play and the two teams compete to score.

Dribble Maze Dribbling - Socce...

Skills dribbling - players dribble with the ball to the first cone which they should then run around in an anti-clockwise direction. They then run to the second cone and run around this one in an anti-clockwise direction as well. From this point players run through the two gates before running from the near right to far left cone, along the back edges of the blue cones (far left to far right) and finally around the near left cone before dribbling back to the touchline.

All players have a ball and stand on a island. The only player without a ball in the defender. The defender can only tag the attackers when they come off their island. If tagged players must go and stand and wait on a specified island.

Sleeping Giant Dribbling - Soc...

Set up an area as shown with the coach (sleeping giant) in one end surounded by cones (gold coins). The players are at the other end and they have 1 ball each.While the sleeping giant is asleep the players can move towards him/her, as soon as the sleeping giant awakes they have to stop and be still, if they are caught moving the sleeping giant can chase them back to the start.If players get to the sleeping giant they pick up a gold coin and run back to the starting area to store it.

Player runs towards first ball ,picks it up and handpasses to red player 2. who replaces the ball and takes up the blue player's position at the start. The blue player continues to the 2nd ball, picks it up and handpasses to the next player and continues in this way to the end of the course. Each player moves down one position so the blue player becomes the final player and the each red player moves up one position (so player 2 becomes player 1, player 3 becomes player 2 and so on.)
