Football: Triangle Conditionin...

Set up a triangle as shown.3 players on the outside have a ball each and the player in the middle without a ball.Player in the middle receives a serve from one player on the outside and controls with the thight before volleying it back to them using the interior or the laces of their feet.He then leaves the vicinity of the triangle before coming back and and receiving from another player.

Triangle passing Possession - ...

Set out a triangle with 3 cones all 1 meter apart. Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 through the area of the triangle. Player 2 has to control the ball and touch it to the side before playing a return pass. Players must make sure that when they make a return pass that it is never played through the same side of the triangle that they have just received the ball through.

Triangle Passing in 4s Passing...

Set up a triangle as shown.4 players on the outside, 2 on 1 cone and 1 on each of the other 2 cones. 1 ball between the group.The ball is with the 1st player in the cone with 2. The player passes the ball to the player on the next cone and follows the pass, with the reciever taking a couple of steps backwards before recieving the ball. As this player is recieving the ball, the player on the next cone will run backwards before the ball is passed to him, with that passer following his pass.The sequence is repeated at each point of the triangle.

Aim of the Drill; to pass and have the player of the ball react to the pass and provide support by running to the open space.<Br>Set up a square grid with cones.<Br>Place 3 players on 3 of the corners.<br>Player 2 starts with the ball. He initially has support to his left and right from players 1 and 3.<br>He now passes to player 3, player 3 has only support from player 2. Player 1 must recognize this and run to the occupied cone and re-establish support in 2 directions for the ball handler.

3 players stand around 3 metres apart from one another with one ball between them. They can pass in either direction and should start with two touch football, using strong side footed passes. After a few minutes you can introduce a one touch rule to encourage players to think about where they are going to pass before they even receive the ball.

There are two triangles in this drill, both using the same top point player (player 5). Players in the top triangle pass in an anti-clockwise direction and players in the lower triangle pass in a clock-wise direction. Both pairs of players must use the middle player as their third passing option.

3 players run down the pitch, passing and interchanging to finish with a shot at goal. Player in the middle starts with the ball. They pass the ball to one of the outside players and overlaps around them. The second player passes the ball to the player on the other side and overlaps around them. Each player receives the ball from the same player every time and they should overlap around the player they pass to.

Number of players; 4, 1 ball per group.<br>The ball is passed from player to player in any direction (clock or anti clock wise) . Players can play a thru ball at any time, this being a pass diagonally across the grid. Initially, players should yell &apos;thru ball&apos; as they let the ball go.After a thru ball the players should change direction of the passing around the grid(clock or anti clock wise)

Set up a rectangle, 15x10m, with a player on each corner plus two defending players inside the grid with bibs on. The outside players must try to stretch the two defenders in order to make space for the diagonal pass. In order to do this they can pass laterally and use dummy passes to send the defenders. Players keep count of how many diagonal passes they have completed.

Players must use their first touch to play the ball either to the left or the right of their square. As soon as they have done this they must then aim to pass the ball through the middle grid and into their partner's square. Their partner must then use their first touch to guide the ball slightly out of their own grid to play the return pass back.

Set up as shown with 2 cones (the disatance of which between can be modified depending on ability or challenge you want to set your players). 1 player on each cone and 1 player in the middle, 1 ball between the 3. Players always take 2 touches, the ball is moved from one end, into the middle man and then to the other end before the sequence is repeated from the other side.

A 1,2 is played with the next player in the triangle and then a long pass is made to the next player on.The sequence is repeated at each point of the triangle and thus the pattern of passing is alternative short and long passes around the triangle.Players move 1 cone on after completing the long pass.

Split your players into three equal sized teams, with two teams starting inside the area and the third spread around the outside of the grid. The team on the outside of the grid are neutral players. When they receive the ball they must pass back to a player on the same team that originally passed to them. The two teams inside the area play a possession game. The challenge for each team is to score 10 (or more) consecutive passes to score a goal.

How accurate are your players long passes? This fun drill lets you find out. Like on an archery board have different target zones - a central 'bull's eye' and then two outer targets. From one side of the pitch to the other players take it in turns to have 4 consecutive cross-field passes, all the time trying to get the ball to land inside the 'bull's eye'.

Group in pairs. One ball between the pair. Repeat in 5 other areas for a total of 12 players.Player 2 passes the ball across the area to player 1. Player 2 then runs immediately around the cone and back to his starting position. Player 1 must control the ball, then pass it back using the inside of his foot, attempting to pass the ball over the far end line before player 2 gets back into position. A goal is scored if the ball goes over the end line travelling along the ground. Repeat and rotate.
