1v1 Ladder 1 v 1 skills - Socc...

Play 1 v 1 for a set period of time, with players trying to take on their opponent and score between the cones. At the end of the game, the winning player moves up (left) a pitch to take on someone else, while the loser moves down (right) a pitch. The player on the top pitch stays at the top if he wins, and the player at the bottom pitch stays there if he loses.

The feeder starts with the ball. They play the ball with a push pass forward. As the ball is played players 1 and 2 sprint to the ball. The first player to touch the ball becomes the attacker while the other player becomes the defender.

Organise the players into groups of 3, with 1 goalkeeper and 2 outfield players. Player 1 and player 2 stand or sit facing away from goal. The goalkeeper then throws the ball out and player 1 and player 2 play the ball back to the goal, passing between them before shooting.

Set up to the side, using the pitch markings as an indicator of where to place your cones (on the touchline, in line with the 6 yard box, penalty spot and baseline).On hearing your whistle players sprint as fast as they can to the first line and touch the ground with their hand before quickly changing direction and running back to the touchline.Repeat to the next line.Finish the suicide by running as fast as you can to the furthest cone, touch the line and run back to your original starting point.

Start with both feet inside one of the rungs and jump both feet outside the ladder (so the ladder is between both feet) then jump with both feet inside the next rung.

Players start on the baseline and run one at a time. The next player starts once the player in front of them has run around the first cone.Players sprint around the outside of the 18 yard box and then run around the cone near the D.Players then slow down to a 50% jog and use quick feet to place both feet in each rung of the ladder.After running through the ladder players run around the next cone and slalom in and out of the cones/poles, facing forward at all times and using quick shuffle feet.Finally players jog back around the cones back to the start point.

Three players line up facing each other. Player 1 plays the ball into player two's feet. They meet the ball and turn before playing a wall pass with player 3, and once the ball has returned, player 2 then shoots first time.

Put one foot in one of the rungs and the other outside. Start by bringing the outside foot towards the foot inside the rung and the inside foot to outside the ladder on the opposite side to the starting foot.

Great for warm ups. Players dribble through the cones, pass to the waiting player at the end of the cones and then run back to touch the first red cone. They then turn and sprint back inside the red square where they play a quick one-two. After this they run back towards the start line, looking to run onto the weighted pass from the blue player. The next player then goes.

Set up a second goal as shown in the diagram.Player 1 starts standing behind a mannequin, positioned outside of the penalty box left hand corner.Player 2 is about 10m further down the pitch in line with Player 1. Player 2 passes the ball to player 1 and runs to the inside side of the mannequin for the lay off.Player 2 takes a shot at the left goal.At the same time as this Player 1, loops behind their run and enters the penalty box to receive a cross from Player 3, at the far right side.Play in both directions to practice crossing and shooting from each side.

Set up with 3 gates spread out as shown. 1 ball in front of each gate.They race through the area (zig-zagging) passing their balls in between the cones (1 point for every successful pass).Upon completing the passes they take 1 of the balls at the end and dribble it back through the starting area, 1 player back gets the bonus point.

Set up a triangle as shown.3 players on the outside have a ball each and the player in the middle without a ball.Player in the middle receives a serve from one player on the outside and controls with the thight before volleying it back to them using the interior or the laces of their feet.He then leaves the vicinity of the triangle before coming back and and receiving from another player.

Try to match players with similar agility.

The pitch is split into 3 thirds with 2 defenders in the defending third, 2 midfielders in the middle third and 1 attacker in the attacking third. The ball starts with one of the goalkeepers who plays the ball into one of the defenders. The defenders play a 2v1 against the oppositions attacking player (3v1 if you include the goalkeeper) with the objective of trying to get the ball into one of the midfield players. Once this occurs, the defender who has not passed the ball into the midfield area can go and join the middle third to create a 3v2 situation. The midfield players then try to play the ball into the attacker placed inside the attacking third. ONe of the non-passing midfielders can then enter the attacking third to create a 2v2. Then the attackers try to score against the opposition. Once the ball goes dead, into the goal or is regained by the opposition, the same scenario occurs with the other team in possession and the defending team must retreat to their defensive zones.

Hello all! My kids aged 9 and 7 are very slow when compared to their peers of the same age. They don't seem to fight for the ball and get and watch others play their game. They seem to lack the urgency (heart) needed for the game. (They LOVE football). How can make them move around and react faster. Any help you are able to provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks O
