1v1 1 v 1 skills - Football Dr...

The feeder starts with the ball. They play the ball with a push pass forward. As the ball is played players 1 and 2 sprint to the ball. The first player to touch the ball becomes the attacker while the other player becomes the defender.

Set up to the side, using the pitch markings as an indicator of where to place your cones (on the touchline, in line with the 6 yard box, penalty spot and baseline).On hearing your whistle players sprint as fast as they can to the first line and touch the ground with their hand before quickly changing direction and running back to the touchline.Repeat to the next line.Finish the suicide by running as fast as you can to the furthest cone, touch the line and run back to your original starting point.

Position players in groups of 4 as shown in the diagram. Repeat in 2 other areas for a total of 12 players.The server (player 3) stands behind the goalkeeper. He makes a pass out to the shooter who strikes the ball 1st time at the goal. This shot must come from the grid at the right of the diagram. Player 2 retrieves any balls from behind the goal. Repeat and rotate.<br>Progression: Serve the ball for a volley or 1/2 volley.

3 vs 2 - Two channels 1 v 1 sk...

2 players in one channel attack 1 defender whilst another attacker and defender wait in the other channel. The 2 attackers in the first channel play a 2 vs 1, trying to score a goal. However the 2nd defender can choose to come across and help defend making it a 2 vs 2 . Having drawn both defenders across into one channel the 2 attackers may choose to use the other channel and exploit the open space or continue to attack without using the unmarked player.

Number Shooting - 1v1 Shooting...

Number 2 groups of players from 1-5 and get them to stand on either side of the goal. Call a number. The two players (one from each side) whose number was called race around the cones to enter the area. When a player has entered through the gate the coach feeds the ball to the side where the first player has entered. Player runs onto the ball and tries to score before the other player can make a challenge/block.

Set out three grids within the area according to the dimensions shown in the above diagram. Play 3 v 1 in each large area, plus a goalkeeper.The 3 blue players combine to dribble the ball past the lone white defender into the midfield area then shoot on the goal. The lone blue player in the other area follows up on rebounds from the goalkeeper. Repeat in the opposite direction. Rotate positions.Progressions:<br>1. The lone defender can track the attacking player into the midfield area in an attempt to pressure the attacker or block the shot.<br>2. Change the ratio of attackers to defenders to 3 v 2.

Straight forward passing and moving drill with only two touches on the ball. The blue players off the ball can only receive the ball at one of the four cones in each corner of the area and the red player is trying to intercept the ball.

<br />Four players are placed in a grid with one defender.<br />The four players aim is to keep possession as long as possible.<br />The player who makes the mistake must become the defender.

Four players are placed in a grid next to another four players. As soon as the ball is given to one group of four a player from the opposite four must enter the grid too win the ball back. Once the ball is won the defender plays the ball back into their own grid and the roles are reversed.

Keep On Running Agility - Foot...

Stand next to the middle cone. Sprint forwards 10 metres to the first cone, turning sharply as you reach it, before sprinting 20 metres to the far cone. Sprint back 20 metres to the second cone and finish by running past the start cone.Players should cover 60 metres in total. Complete 10 full shuttles, with 30 seconds rest between each run.

Football: 1v1 - First touch an...

Set up two lines of players as show in the image, about 30m from the goals. The first player dribbles with the ball at pace and then puts their foot on top of the ball, to leave it dead in front of the other player. The first player continues their run around the cone in front of them and then runs back inside the area. The receiver uses a positive first touch to move into space and then try to finish through one of the wide goals. The first player should have continued their run and now tries to put pressure on the receiver's shot.

Warm Up Grid Agility - Footbal...

Split your players into two groups. Half of the group runs around the outside of the square for one minute at 60% pace. At the same time the other half of your team are working inside the grid. Half of the players have a have a ball. Players must move and call for the pass when they do not have a ball. Players work in each area twice (2 runs around the outside and 2 times inside the area).

Children misbehaving in traini...

Hello, I am currently coaching an u9's boys team and a majority of them are well behaved and want to play football, but the odd 1or2 tend to mess around at training which distracts the others. I have sat them out in training and spoken to the parents but still this goes on. Do I decide to kick them out of the team altogether or does anyone know the miracle cure to stop this happening?
