Staying in one service box on their side, players compete against each other just like a tennis game.
Players have to bounce the ball on their side of the net, so it crosses to their opponents side. The player receiving the ball has to catch it with one hand, making sure the ball only bounces once on their side of the court.
Continue this as a rally until the ball bounces twice on one side of the court.
By introducing an element of competition into the warm up it will concentrate your players focus.
This drill can be used to practice different shots. For example, if the session focuses on the backhand stroke, get your players to throw the ball using a backhand technique.
To get players even more focused get them to catch the ball with the weak hand, ie if right handed catch the ball with their left hand.
