The player stands in ready position facing away from the coach. The Coach gives a verbal signal and throws the ball. The player's goal is to turn around and catch the ball in the air.
In this drill the player improves reactions and gets ready mentally for the practice session. This exercise is really helpful for volleys but it also has many benefits for other areas of play. Additionally, quick reaction forces players to be focused from the beginning so it has positive impact on the quality of the practice session.
