Player stands close to the wall and repeatedly hits backhand volleys at the wall, with the aim of the drill being that the ball does not touch the ground. This helps improve reaction times of players.
Hitting against the wall is a great tool to work on all tennis strokes and also to improve various physical abilities. The wall never misses the ball, so the player will develop solid endurance by hitting more balls in a row. Additionally, player will improve reaction time because the ball will come back faster in comparison to playing with a real opponent. In this particular exercise, player works on backhand volley. Being close to the wall makes this drill really difficult because the player has a short time to react and needs good arm strength to keep consistency in the drill.
