DESCRIPTION

Coach stands on the player's side.
Player serves wide from the deuce side.
Coach throws short ball to the deuce side.
Player runs forward and hits offensive deep forehand to the center of the court.

COACHING POINTS

In this drill player works on tactical scenario including serve and offensive forehand. Wide serve is always a good option to open the court so players should practise this direction quite often to be able to execute it sistematically while playing matches. Easier response from the opponent is a great opportunity to attack so this mindset coach has to instill in players. Most of the time player looks for shots to the deuce or ad side while attacking but coach should explain to them that from time to time it is a good option to attack deeply to the center and come to the net after the shot. It won't only surprise the opponent but it will also limit rival's possiblities to successfuly hit difficult passing shot.

Serving Accuracy Toss (part 2):

Cones are set up in front of the player.

Player tosses the ball in the air and tries to make the ball bounce inside this area.

Serve and Return

Serve with Opening:

Player serves from one side. Coach feeds random ball as a return. Player reacts and hits the next shot to the open space.

Shadow With The Band:

You will need a resistance band to perform this drill. The player takes the band and shadows their serving motion. In this drill, the player warms up all the body parts needed for the serving action. The resistance band is great for working the arms as they are separated.

Serve and return pattern with forehand:

The player serves from the Deuce side, aiming for the body of the imaginary opponent.

The coach then feeds the ball to the player's backhand side.

The player then has to hit an aggressive forehand inside out by running around to get into position to hit the shot.
