Both ends will begin at the same time, players will battle for the loose puck in the corner along the boards. Players will be encouraged to use body position to keep the puck away and the other player will have to try and steal the puck. On the sound of the whistle, both players will leave the puck behind and race to get the puck at the center line, then move in for a breakaway. The second group of players will enter to battle for the puck on that same whistle.
Coaches will have to listen for the whistle and move the kids along to the breakaway while getting next group into the battle. this drill will move quickly with whistles coming about every 10 - 15 seconds. this will encourage quick corner battle and keep the kids from standing around.
