Hayden Anderson Coach, United Kingdom

DESCRIPTION

Note: White is defender cones, Orange is offense, Blue is location marker Handler has a defender on them forcing a righty-flick There is one defender on the stack who guards the person cutting from the bottom of the stack until they make their cut, then the defender returns to guard the next cut There are cones set out at equidistant points to represent the position held in a stack Players sprint to the blue cone where they then need to decide to cut in or out As one player cuts, everyone in the stack moves up a cone to simulate the motion of a stack After a player catches the disc they return to the top of the stack Progression: As players figure it out, add a defender to every player so they are being marked throughout the whole drill

COACHING POINTS

Emphasize the importance of moving up in the stack as soon as someone throws, no standing around or waiting to see if they catch it Make sure players are running through their cuts all the way (no slowing down to catch the disc) If players are cutting deep, keep an eye to make sure their cuts are vertical or slightly heading in back towards the break side, just not drifting towards the sideline and removing space
