DESCRIPTION

  • Cones are set on both sides of the player
  • Player starts with performing 3 front cross-over steps on each side while moving to the cone
  • After 6 reps, player performs 3 back cross-over steps on each side while moving to the cone

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill, player works on improving cross-over movement by using front and back variation
  • Cross-over step is crucial to be able to quickly recover and move around the court so players should be able to perform it fluidly
  • The situation on the court will require from player to use front or back one so it is necessary to work on both options
  • Coach should pay attention to the width of the cross-over as also to the ability to quickly change direction after planting the foot on the court
