The player starts by sitting on the ground. They are fed the ball by the coach and must execute a forehand volley whilst only moving their upper body.
In this drill, the player works on upper body control in the forehand volley. By not working the legs, players are required to have a bigger turn to develop the pace of the ball.
Being able to control the upper body and hit successful volleys is a necessity to deal with difficult volleys. Players have to learn how to use only their upper body to save difficult balls.
