DESCRIPTION

Dead Ball Drill
Players start off on the centre and moves around Backhand for first forehand then moves off to play second forehand

COACHING POINTS

player should turn and prepare back peddle for inside out Forehand then recovers and pushes off for second forehand.

Player can alternate the direction of the balls, aswell the coach can vary the feeding position (1 - 3)

Forehand Inside Out (Live ball):

Drill Set-Up:

Players start off on centre.

Hits first ball back to coach and returns to volley to play inside out forehand.
Topic of Emphasis:

Players should split stop just prior to coaches hit and then prepare before ball bounces.

Players should focus on proper balance.
Variation

Players should alternate the direction and depth.

Coach can feed first ball with either top spin or slice.

Forehand Deep / Short:

Dead Ball Drill
Players start off in backhand corner (doubles Alley)
Players move out to play first forehand along the baseline and then moves forward to play a short ball inside the service box for a winner down the line

Forehand Lateral, with depth (live ball):

Drill Set-Up:
Players start off in backhand doubles corner and executes two balls.
Topic of Emphasis:

Player steps out in on first shot and plays open stance on second volley.

Player aim for greater depth.
Variation:
Coach can vary fielding position and players alternate direction and depth.

Forehand Drills

Cross court inside-out forehands:

The coach feeds the first ball in and then players have to keep the rally going, running around the ball to play a cross-court forehand into the coned area.

So player 1 hits the ball to player 1 on the other team who then returns to player 2 and so on.
