In this drill, the player works on stoping the motion of the racquet at the point of contact.
This will improve their control of the ball in a pressure situation such as rrecieving a serve. By focusing on a lack of follow through it will help your player to concentrate solely on the moment of contact so he/she has more chances to respond effectively.
This exercise can be also used while learning how to play successful defence (baseline) shots.
