DESCRIPTION

  • Coach stands behind the player.
  • Player steps forward to set up the close stance.
  • Player turns the upper body and touches the coach's hand with their own non-dominant hand.
  • Player imitates fluid forehand stroke.

 

COACHING POINTS

  • The player works on proper upper body preparation for the forehand stroke
  • Many players prefer to "feel" the new motion to grasp new knowledge so performing exercise based on touching coach's hand is a great way to achieve fast improvement in the technical area
  • Coach can also put a player behind and feed them balls so the player works on technique and hits the balls at the same time.
