how to get loop on spin bowling?
Use an unopposed bowling drill. Either in the nets or on the outfield mark out two sets of stumps regulation 22 yards apart. At the batting stumps, mark a target landing area using a target mnat, cones or flat discs. In front of the target area, by eye (roughly four or five feet) place an additional set of stumps. The bowler must clear this set of stumps with the ball, but still land the delivery in the target area.
in the nets marking a target area and looking it through your eye is not the solution.now a days batsmen step out the moment you release the ball from your wrists so it is better to stretch your arm as much as possible vertically and pull it down there by you are not only getting loop to the ball but also drift and dip and not to forget the turn.the turn is generated from your fingers or from your wrists depending on your comfortability.

ur hand should come over the head strite give flight and release the ball as much as possible through index finger it should be on the seam position and seam should be moving towards leg slip....
I bowl legspin and they way I get to loop is get my bowling technique right, youre follow throught is the main thing and the pivot after getting that right you will start useing all of youre body to get the ball up there. It will spin more and get above the batsmens eyes.
Break the delivery down into a number of sections. To firstly get the flight/loop in the flight use the nets and place an obsticle (I use a tennis net or similar across the front of the net opening) the bowler must get the ball over, to get used to the idea of throwing the ball up. Once they get used to the feeling of releasing the ball over the obstacle, remove the obstacle and just use a small rope or similar for height reference and introduce your tagets on the pitch and control of the spin depending on the type of bowling. I have also seen a marked square on the back net used to give the bowler an idea of how much bounce he/she gets from the different heights of delivery. Hope my two cents help.
Impart maximum spin from the maximum vertical posution. Rotate the ball forward and down and relese the ball crossing the front knee with a flight.
i think the perfect use of pivot and follow through are the basic factores to rotate and loop the ball.
Dear Sanjy
I would like you to consider the follwoing in order to get more loop on your spin bowling:
1) The pivot - your front foot must pivot in order for your body to rotate and get the ball to spin
2) Knee drive - the back knee must support the pivot by briving through upon follow through.
3) Bowling arm must remain high and strong - this will enable ball to be given more flight, in hope it will dip more (ie more loop on the ball)
The key is:
* You need to be getting the ball above the batters eyeline ideally
* The ball needs to still have soem turn on it after you have given it more loop
See my attached drill for an idea on how to work on this
Thanks
Tom
Release the ball up & over. Spinning finger rivee the ball as much as possible.
You could try marking an area on the pitch where you will aim to land the ball. Suspend a rope across the pitch, at a height a little bit higher than your usual loop and aim to land the ball in the area marked on the pitch, making sure the ball goes over the rope each time. Gradually increase the height of the rope until you get the loop you want.
You can go a step further when you have mastered the loop you want by suspending a hula hoop over the pitch. This is much easier in the nets because you can anchor the hula hoop at 3 points to stop it moving.
Practice bowling through the hoop and onto the marked area on the pitch. This is a fairly difficult task and you should not become deterred at your lack of success when you begin. Simply work on getting closer to sending the ball through the hoop and you will improve.
