Please guide me on how to plan my session for an u-23 state team which is going to participate in some important days matches. unfortunately I only have very short time of around 15 or 30 days to do this.
Hi Kamel,
It`s hard to suggest a session without knowing where your team needs to improve. Have they been getting out cheaply, dropping catches, giving away too many runs in the feild or unable to bowl a team out?
As you have such little time I would pin-point an area in their game that needs the most work and focus on that first.
hope this helps,
Paul
Hi Paul,Thanks for your kind response. As i have been given the resposibility as a coach for u-23 age group team so i want to organise prepatory camp for the boys to enhance their skill in all area of game. Please guide me how to improve their skill through short period [7-10 days] session plan. I have 25 players group.
Thanks
With regards.

Hi Kamal,
I would suggest one of two things:
Get your players in the nets, bowlers practicing bowling, batters practicing batting and then fielding drills for everyone, like the one below.
Or, pinpoint where your team needs to improve and choose the drills from Sportplan`s cricket categories - if you are on the home page, click on drills, which is on the left side bar.
Good luck,
Paul
since your team is representig your state that means they are tallented or performed well to be there, the team binding is the importang thing here let them be together for longer period of time let them know each others game teach them team is important dont emphasase on only few players that comes later plan day out from practice to watch a movie or so its important too
Pre-season is the best time to rebuild and refine batting technique without the pressure of match results. This article covers the fundamental batting positions that underpin consistent run-scoring, provides a progressive session framework from shadow batting to live bowling, and highlights the common pre-season mistakes that coaches should avoid.
Fielding placement in limited overs cricket is a tactical chess match that changes with every phase of the innings. This article breaks down how captains should set fields during the powerplay, middle overs, and death overs, and provides practical coaching sessions for developing game-aware fielders who anticipate rather than react.
With IPL 2026 starting this month, we break down the art of powerplay bowling - field placement, line and length, and how to turn the fielding restrictions to your advantage.
