Off the ball screen Passing - ...

Off the ball screen, practiced in a closed situation. In threes players set up in a triangle. The player at the top passes the ball in either direction then sets the screen on the opposite side to where they have just played their pass. The player behind the screen curls round towards the basket and receives a pass from the player with the ball to shoot a lay-up. The shooting player then collects the ball and runs to the top of the triangle to start the drill again.

High Ball Screen- Jump Shot Sh...

Shooters will line up with a basketball each. The player with the ball will dribble away from the screen at first and also to get level to have a better angle to use the screen. The players will dribble off the screen to get seperation when they are 1 or 2 dribbles away from the screen the player will stop and shoot a jump shot.

Ball Screen vs Hedging Defense...

The player will dribble down to the level of the ball screen. Once they get in line with the screen, the ball handler will dribble backwards simulating that the screen is being hedged by the screeners defender. Once the dribbler has gone backwards they will then attack again getting 1 or 2 dribble separation to shoot a jump shot.

The dribbler will use the ball screen, this situation the dribblers defender has gone under the screen. The dribbler is going to stop on top of the screen and shoot a jump shot.

Screen on Player with the ball...

Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 before running forwards to make a screen on them. Player 2 proceeds to dribble around player 1 before going for a jump shot. Players then rotate (player 1 becomes player 2 and player joins the back of the line).

One attacking player sets up near sideline with the ball. 2 defenders set up in line to defend players.Other attacking player sets a screen on first defender. This opens the player up for a pass and a shot or clears the way for a lay up.

The down screen will happen away from the ball. The player receiving the screen will fake away from the basket and then back cut to the hoop where they will catch the ball and shoot a lay up. The player setting the screen will pop back towards the ball.

The screen goes to be set on the dribbler, the screeners defender will hedge out early to stop the ball. This is where the screener will slip directly to the basket for a lay up.

A staggered screen is 2 individual screens that will be set to get 1 player open. The player will run around both screens to receive the ball for a shot.

Players join with another group of 3. One group plays passive defence to start off with. As the attacking team improves they the defending team progressively become more active.

Setting a Screen Screening - B...

Player 1 with the ball. Player 2 sets the screen at either side of the defender. When the screen is set player 1 fakes to the opposite side then crosses back to rub shoulders with the screener, before dribbling past and either taking a shot or a lay up.

Setup as shown. Split the group into two with a further person starting on the cone as shown.Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 before giving a handoff pass back to player 1. Player 2 then turns to make a screen, with player 3 making a run, then making a cut before receiving a pass from player 1 and shooting.

The down screen will happen away from the ball. The player receiving the screen will step over the screen and then take 2 long backward steps away from the screen towards the corner of the court. The screener will turn and cut back towards the ball. This cut will happen if the defender tries to get around the screen and stop the cut towards the ball.

Screen the screener involves 3 players. 1 player will set a screen for another player, then an additional screen will happen for the player that set the 1st screen.

The flare screen is set on the side of a defensive player. The player receiving the screen will cut out towards the sideline away from the ball.

Setup as shown.Split the group into three groups.Player 1 passes to player 2 before going to set a lateral screen for player 3. Player 3 cuts off the screen to receive the pass and shoot.

Players will set out as shown in the animation.The top line will have a basketball. The first player in the line will pass to the person on the right wing.After making the pass the player will run and set a screen for the player on the left wing.The player will curl around off the screen for a short shot. The player who shoots will get the rebound and pass the ball back out to the line at the top. The player at the elbow will go and set a screen on the player along the baseline. Once the screen is set the player receiving the screen will cut up towards the elbow. The screener will roll to the basket.

The back screen happens when the lower offensive player sets a screen for a player higher up on the court. The screen will be set on someone's back and the player receiving the screen will cut towards the basket.

The attacker starts on the sideline of the court, with the defender facing away from the ball. The attacker then feints goal wards then comes back across the defender to receive the pass.

Players set up about 10-15 feet apart as shown in video. Players must follow their pass to the next passing position. The final pass will to a player shooting a lay-up. Then the drill will continue in the same way.

This type of screen will be used to get a player open for a shot. The screeners will stand side by side which makes it a wider screen so it is harder for a defender to get around.

Keep ball - 4 vs 1 Passing - B...

Two grids of equal size both with 4 players inside. One team starts with the ball and passes it around inside their area, trying to keep possession. In order to steal the ball and get the ball for their team one player from the other grid is allowed to enter the opposition team's grid and chase down the ball. When they win the ball the player plays an unopposed pass into their grid, follows their pass and then the exercise starts again.

First player pops straight to the corner. Second and third player face forward then on the slap turn inwards to screen. Fourth player steps into his defender then cuts hard behind the screen for the jumpshot.
