Back Cut Drill

(i) player now makes a v cut, imagines the defender is over-playing him and makes a Back Cut or backdoor cut receive phantom pass.(ii) Receives the ball and shoots.

Player 1 dribbles from corner to the top of the 3pt line. Pass to player 2 who dribbles towards the corner. Player 1 now makes an L cut to basket and receives pass from player 2 for the shot.

Seven players with two balls. One player is based at the circle of the free throw line (Player 2). Player 1 passes to player 2, player 1 who makes a cut and goes for a hand off pass. Player 1 passes to player 3 and goes to replace player 3. The same happens on the other side of the court using players 4, 2 and 5.

Setup as shown. Player 1 passes to player 2 before making a big cut across court to receive the pass back from player 2, and the continues on to have a shot. On having a shot player 1 then takes player 2s position and player 2 joins the end of the queue.

Setup the practice as shown. Players 1 and 3 dribble towards the wing, with player 4 setting a lateral screen for player 2. Player 2 comes off the screen and receives a pass from player 3 for a shot. Player 4 cuts to the ball and receives a pass from player 1 for a shot.

The players need to dribble the ball around the cones until they reach the last cone before excuting a jump shot.

Setup the practice as shown. Player 1 and player 3 perform v cuts, before receiving a pass, pivoting and shooting, get own rebound and change lines.

Player 5 V cuts to the middle of the court Player 1 passes the ball and proceeds to cut to the basket 5 passes to 1, 1 performs a lay up, 5 rebound the ball.

Setup as shown. Player 2 makes a V cut, receives the pass from player 1 before dribbling to the low post area. Player 2 then takes a pull up jump shot, with player 1 following the rebound.

Player 1 passes to player 2, player 1 then runs around the cone in the middle and out to the space. Player 2 passes to player 3 before running to the middle cone and into the space. The practice should then continue passing and cutting into the space.

3 players work with one ball between them inside a quarter of the court. In the middle of the half of area is a cone. Player 1, with the ball in hand, starts on one of the corners of the grid and passes to player 2 after they have run inside the area, touched the cone, and then run outside into open space to receive the pass. Player 2 then passes to player 3 and the drill continues.

The down screen will happen away from the ball. The player receiving the screen will step over the screen and then take 2 long backward steps away from the screen towards the corner of the court. The screener will turn and cut back towards the ball. This cut will happen if the defender tries to get around the screen and stop the cut towards the ball.

Start underneath and beside key near the block. Toss the ball into a spin back into a point between the elbow and the free throw line and the three-point line. Jab, step into the key and simulate a cut off a pick being set off a block cutting to catch the ball about 15 feet out this is a banana cut.

The down screen will happen away from the ball. The player receiving the screen will fake away from the basket and then back cut to the hoop where they will catch the ball and shoot a lay up. The player setting the screen will pop back towards the ball.

Player 1 then drives to the basket and shoots or performs a lay-up. After this they collect their ball and play an outlet pass to player 2 who has run up the court in readiness for the pass.

This is a pass and run to the back of the opposite line drill, with a v-cut movement before the pass. Player 1 starts in the triple threat position whilst 2 makes a v cut. Player 1 then passes the ball to player 2. Player 2 fakes a pass to player 1 who now cuts towards the basket. Player 3 (stood behind player 1) now v-cuts to the front of their line. Player 2 passes the ball to player 3. Player 4 (stood behind player 2) makes a v-cut to the front of their line. Player 3 passes the ball to player 4.

Start position is on the block. Toss the ball to the free throw line extended at the three-point line. Jag, step and cut to catch the ball in a quick step. Take the ball to the shooting pocket and forward pivot into the triple threat position facing the front pocket. Do a shoulder fake towards the free throw line and drive on a dribble to the baseline taking a shot from about 8 meters.
