Burpees

Stand, arms above head; Jump as high as possible, reaching hands as high as possible; On landing, drop to the pressup position; Bring both knees between your shoulders simultaneously and back to the pressup position (a squat thrust); Back to your feet, in the same movement jumping as high as possible raising arms and hands as high as possbile; When performing the jump, keep head raised and look forwards, not to the ground.

Drop and Catch between Legs

Legs bent, hold the ball between the legs, one hand around the back of one leg, the other in front of the other, like in the image. Release the ball, imparting slight upward momentum. Rotate the torso to catch the ball with the alternate arms behind the leg and in front.

Stand with feet shoulder width apart and hold the ball in front with both hands at the level of your chest.Drop theball, clap your hands behind your back and catch the ball before it bounces.

Stand upright with the ball behind your neck.Let the ball go and clap your hands in front of your body, and then catch the ball behind the back.

Eraser Drill

Set 3 blocks (white board eraser) out in a straight line about 10 feet apart. The player will do a defensive slide and pick up the block with the closest hand. Once it has been picked up it will be switched to the other hand. When the player gets to the next block they will pick up with the closest hand and drop the 1st block they picked up.

Line Up

Teams of 4-6 players with one ball. Players line up with their backs to the court and the gaps between the players are length of their hands. The first player in line has a ball. On the signal from the coach, the player with the ball hands it to the second player over the head and runs to the end of the line. The second player hands the ball to the third player under the legs and runs to the end of the line and continues over and under. The winner is the team who comes first to finish line.Rules:--Players cannot move their feet when they hand off the ball.--If the ball drops to the floor, they must start again from starting point.

Players take it in turn to v cut / flash across the lane to the low post area. Upon arriving, the post up correctly and receive pass from passer. player will then perform the designated move. (i) Drop step baseline- power lay up (ii)Drop step inside - jump hook

Footwork and Movement

Receive, Dodge and Shoot!

Players take it in turns to run from the sideline to the centre, behind the chair, where they receive the pass from the feeder. Upon receiving the pass players must feint their way past the chair, dropping a shoulder and pretending to run one way, before pushing off from their outside foot and driving in the other direction. Once they've got past the chair players should have a shot on goal.

Stand with your legs spread apart; drop the ball in front of you. Now hit it with your right hand and then your left hand, then reach behind you and hit it with your right hand then left hand, then reach in front of you again and hit with your right hand then left hand, and then behind you again...

From the block do a spin back, drop step to the power box, lift fake from the chin position, jump step to a hook. Concentrate on not bringing the ball down below the shoulders. When shooting learn to keep the ball up from the chin position. If you move that ball even a centimeter away from that body the defender will be able to knock it away. Do twenty each side of the double drop step.

There will be 1 passer and 1 Post up/Shooter. The player posting up will receive the basketball and drop step baseline. Once they have got close to the basket they will then perform a reverse pivot(the player will pivot on their inside foot). When the player has done the reverse pivot they will shoot a jump hook.

Do the spin back on the post. Drop to the middle, lift fake, drop the foot in the direction come from and shoot and jump hook. Do not cover commit to the second drop step and open up too much to the basket. When doing this drill be very conscious of keeping your back to the hoop. Take twenty shots on both side.

After a shot is released move quickly to a re-rounding position and put back with a power move. Remember to open out to get more reach. Go up to the shot from the chin position. Do not take the ball outwards then up. Do twenty of these on each side.

Basketball: Practise shooting ...

Pull up about 4 meters out and shoot a drop shot. Imagine having to shoot over bigger people so put a little bit more height on the ball to stimulate a game situation. Make sure this drill is done in both directions changing hands each time. Do this drill from anywhere on the court beyond the perimeter three point line. Use different changes in direction dribbles like behind the back, through the legs and spin dribbles. Take shots from 4-8 feet.

Fast break rebound relay Advan...

Player 1 starts with the ball and throws it against the basket, deliberately missing, before catching the rebound and dribbling the ball up the court. When player 1 sets off up the court player 2 should run to the outside of the court alongside them. As the players reach the key player should cut in to receive the ball and then perform a lay up. Player 2 then catches the ball again and dribbles up the court with a new player to restart the drill in the other direction.

Coin hand trick Fitness - Bask...

Start out by placing one penny coin on the back of the hand. The coin is tossed about 30 centimeters into the air and snatched when it is at eye level. Move onto 2 coins and then onto 3. Spend a few minutes on each hand each day. You will need to spend a bit of time learning to do this at first but once learnt, just spend 2 minutes on each hand each day.

Do twenty on each side, picking out all the skills that are involved in this move, study and learn each one. Break down all the moves into its parts and practice without the ball needed.
