Pass and follow Passing - Bask...

Players stand in a circle with one ball per group. The first player with the ball starts off by passing the ball to another player and then follows their own pass.

Step forwards with one foot. As the weight transfers forward make a chest pass by extending your arms at chest height and bounce the ball in between you and the player to whom you are passing.

Three man switch to shoot and ...

Player 1 starts with the ball in the middle of the court and plays the ball to player 2 who cuts in to the first cone. Player 2 must then pass to player 3 who has also made a run inside to the other cone further up the court. Player 1 in the meantime should loop on the outside behind player 2 to receive the ball back from player 3 and take a shot.

Circle pass with Defender Warm...

Players set up a circle with one defender in the middle and one ball per group. The players on the outside of the circle must pass the ball and try to keep it away from the defender. The defender stays in the middle until they steal or deflect the ball. When that happens, the pass who threw the pass will become the next defender.

Give and Go: V-Shaped Run Foot...

Player 1 passes to player 2 (can be the coach) before making a run and then cutting to the next cone to receive the pass. Player 1 then dribbles to the next cone before having a shot.

Simultaneous Bounce / Chest Pa...

Players line up parallel with the sidelines. Depending on the level of your players you can start with one or two basketballs. If using two balls one player should use a chest pass with the other using a bounce pass to avoid the balls hitting in mid-air. Duration of the each drill is 1 minute. 1. Start off with simple chest passing to each other whilst jogging on the spot. After a little while change the type of pass to a bounce pass. 2. Same as above, this time alternating the types of pass, throwing one chest and one bounce pass. 3. Players must move from one sideline to the other whilst maintaining the same distance between one another. Move the ball between one another by using simple chest passes whilst jogging. After about a minute repeat this stage using bounce passes. 4. Increase and decrease the distance between the players and move from sideline to sideline. Simple chest passes to each other whilst jogging. When both players are at the sideline, they might use a javelin or baseball pass to each other. After use bounce passes. After use exercises 2 and 3.

Run, Fake, Pass and Shoot Shoo...

Player 1 passes to player 2 and makes a break forwards before usinga body fake to get free. After the fake the player then accelerates to the elbow of the free throw line where they receive the ball, shoots and if necessary follow up with a rebound shot. Player 1 then passes to player 2 who throws the ball to the next player in line before joining the back of the queue. Player 1 replaces player 2 and the drill continues.

One team runs clockwise round the inside of the circle with the other team running anti-clockwise around the outside of the circle (blue cones).When the coach shouts 'Jailbreak' the players inside the inner circle try to 'escape' to outside the 10m x 10m square (yellow cones).The inside team scores a point for each 'jailbreaker' - swap over. If you have an odd number of players give the defenders the extra man.

Start with 5 players on court as attackers.Ball starts on half way. 3 players at top creating a triangle, 2 players under hoop.Player with the ball passes to the 'strong side' and stack. Ball is passed around. Any player can put a shot up as long as the triangle is maintained. Players still hold triangle formation around the key - this gives options on offence.

Start with legs shoulder width apart. Step forwards. As the weight is transferred forwards make a chest pass, pushing the ball out from the chest and releasing the ball when your arms are fully outstretched. The transfer of weight gives extra power.

Stand close towards the wall with the ball on your dominant hand and bounce it against the wall using only the tips of your fingers.

Stand close towards the wall with a ball in each hand. Bounce the balls simultainously against the wall. How many times you can do it without stopping?

3 Man weave turn 3 v 2 3 v 2 -...

The 3 attacking players move up the court, playing an unopposed 3 man weave all the way to the half court line. Once they reach the half-way line they turn and play a 3 vs 2 back to the basket with the defenders staying inside the 3 point line.

5 Players with two basketballs. The players are passing the ball around the pentagon. The receiver must step towards the ball, pivot and face another player and pass the ball.

When you collect the ball, set your feet wide apart, bend your knees to form a strong body position to be able to put maximum power and control on the pass.

Players work in pairs and move around the court, trying to keep dribbling to a minimum. Before being allowed to make a pass the ball must pass through a gate, the next player must then also pass the ball back through a gate of the other colour. Players progress like this until they have made 6 passes.

Players . 2 and 4 run towarsds each other on meeting they both run of the pretend screen/defender and make them selves available to recieve the ball ( keeping receiving hand up as a target) Player dribbling looks up and as soon as the player is available passes the ball. Receiving playersd take a shot and sollect the rebound to pass the ball back to the next two player by the 3 point line.

Player 1 passes to player 4 and follows their pass. Player 4 passes to player 5 and then follows their pass. This process is repeated until the ball reaches player 10 who on receiving the ball dribbles back to the start.

Select between 2 to 6 people to be in the middle (depending on the size of the group). The rest of the group each have a ball and on the command they have to dribble from one end of the court to the other. They have to make sure that they avoid the catchers in the middle who are trying to knock their ball away.If one of the dribblers is caught they join the other catchers in the middle.

Player 1 will pass the ball to player 2.Player 1 will cut around the cone and down towards the next cone where they will receive the ball from player 2. Once the ball has been received, player 1 will dribble towards the baseline and shoot.The players will then switch lines.

Set up 4 lines of players, with a line in each corner of the court. Players will play 2v2. Once a shot has been taken the ball is passed to the next pair of players and the previous attacking pair must sprint back to play defence into the 2v2. A continuous drill. The coach can keep score if they wish too.

Pass Run and Shoot Shooting - ...

Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 and makes a V cut run, running towards the elbow of the free throw line before cutting in to meet the pass. When player one receives the pass from they shoot from where they caught the ball. If they miss they may follow up with a rebound before playing an outlet pass to player 2 who then passes the ball back into the line of players before joining the back of the queue. Player 1 now takes player 2's role and the dril continues.
